Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Doctoral Researcher to join the Molecular Nephrology research group at the University Hospital Münster (UKM). The focus of this DFG-funded project is investigating the biology of podocytes, essential components of the kidney's filtration barrier, and the causes of related diseases. The researcher will specifically study the regulation of the Hippo signaling pathway, which is crucial for podocyte survival and function, primarily utilizing *Drosophila melanogaster* garland cell nephrocytes as a model system, alongside human cell experiments. Day-to-day tasks involve generating and analyzing fly lines, performing advanced imaging (Immunofluorescence, Electron Microscopy), and utilizing cutting-edge molecular techniques such as RNA-Seq, Cut&Tag, and Proximity Labeling (TurboID, APEX). Candidates must hold a degree in Life Sciences (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry) and possess strong experience in Molecular and Cell Biology, coupled with fluency in English. The position is attractive due to its close supervision, modern laboratories, and integration into a motivated, interdisciplinary team.
