Job Summary

This role at Roche Diagnostics involves developing near-patient diagnostic devices, from initial concept to series production, within the global "Body / Wearables and Handheld Devices" team. The successful candidate will be an active member of agile project teams, focusing on building and providing electronic prototypes, planning and executing development tests, and performing general development tasks like schematic and layout design. Key responsibilities also include setting up and maintaining development test benches, data evaluation and analysis, and managing electronic equipment. This position is ideal for someone with practical electronics experience, a systematic approach to technical challenges, and a desire to contribute to innovative healthcare solutions.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Medical Technology, or similar, OR Technician with at least 5 years of experience in a development-related work environment.

Experience

  • First practical experience from relevant internships or technician training
  • Experience in interdisciplinary hands-on work, especially in electronics
  • Hands-on experience in mechanics (e.g., ME-CAD, 3D printing) and/or basic software tasks (e.g., Arduino, C/C++, Python, Matlab) is a plus
  • Experience with equipment management in a medical/GxP compliant environment
  • Experience in data extraction and analysis using common tools (e.g., Excel, Python, Labview, Minitab, Matlab)
  • Knowledge of schematic and layout development (Altium Designer)
  • Initial experience with agile development methods is a plus
