This role involves the independent management and execution of large-scale fermentation processes within the Biotech Production division, contributing essential base products (proteins and enzymes) used across Roche Diagnostics' product range. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing, monitoring, conducting, and harvesting fermentation batches, operating and maintaining technical equipment like stirred-tank reactors, and performing solid-liquid separations for cell harvesting. A critical part of the job is ensuring meticulous documentation according to strict Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines, conducting analytical measurements, and performing sterile techniques. The ideal candidate will have a background as a Chemical/Biological Laboratory Technician, Chemist, or Brewer/Maltster, coupled with proven experience in biotechnological production facilities. This position is attractive for those who are passionate about technical processes, thrive in a team environment, and are prepared for continuous shift work (early, late, and night shifts) on a two-year fixed-term contract.
