Job Summary

The Research Alliance Ruhr is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Physics to join the Future Energy Materials and Systems (FEMS) Research Center at the University of Duisburg-Essen. This role focuses on cutting-edge research into controlling emergent electronic properties at ferroelastic domain walls, aiming to understand fundamental physics and develop novel strategies for property-engineering and optimization for nanotechnology and unconventional computing applications. The successful candidate will conduct frontier research, focusing on ferroelastic domain walls and their study using correlated microscopy techniques, including scanning probe microscopies, focused-ion-beam nanostructuring, and scanning (transmission) electron microscopy. A key part of the role involves setting up new laboratories for advanced materials characterization.
