This role is for a highly skilled Manufacturing Scientist specializing in Upstream Processing (USP) within the global Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) Drug Substance team. The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert for USP technologies, providing critical technical guidance and support for manufacturing process owners. Day-to-day activities involve contributing to the development, optimization, and lifecycle management of upstream processes, collaborating with CMC teams on product launches and scale-up procedures, and facilitating technology transfers between manufacturing sites. Required Skills
Education
Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
Experience
- 5 years in upstream processing technologies, including cell bank development, seed train strategies, bioreactor operations, and cell separation
- Proven track record in manufacturing process development, optimization, and lifecycle management
- Experience in tech transfer and launch activities within a biopharmaceutical or biotechnology environment
