Job Summary
The Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics (MPE) is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join their team in Garching, near Munich. This role is crucial for the eXTP (enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission) satellite project, where MPE is developing spectroscopic silicon drift detectors (SDD). The successful candidate will be responsible for the step-by-step commissioning and functional testing of detector PCBs and ASICs, optimizing the existing detector test setup for power supply and data acquisition. They will also build a dedicated ASIC test station and document the electronic system, manufacturing, and verification processes. This position offers a versatile and engaging opportunity to work in a dynamic, international research environment, contributing to cutting-edge satellite instrumentation alongside experienced engineers and physicists.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
Experience
- Professional experience in developing noise-sensitive electronics
- Experience in the development of analog and digital electronics, ideally using ASICs and their peripherals
- Experience in operating scientific test setups and testing electronic modules
