PhD Position: Catalysis with Supported Metal Phosphides | PhD Position: Catalysis with supported metal phosphides
MPI f. Kohlenforschung
Job Summary
This PhD position offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic chemist to join the Neumann group at the Max Planck Institute for Coal Research. The role focuses on a DFG-funded project exploring transition metal catalysis using non-noble metal phosphide nanoparticles. The successful candidate will investigate the potential of these phosphides to match or surpass the performance of noble metals in catalysis, aiming for more sustainable chemical production. Day-to-day activities will involve material synthesis, multi-technique characterization, and heterogeneous catalysis. The position requires a Master's degree in chemistry, prior experience in material synthesis or catalysis, and strong theoretical foundations in chemistry and catalysis. This is an attractive role for those dedicated to learning new skills and eager to explore cutting-edge research in sustainable chemistry.
