Job Summary

This PhD position at the renowned Max Planck Institute for Coal Research focuses on cutting-edge basic research in catalysis, specifically investigating the structure-property relationships of industrially relevant zeolites. The successful candidate will join the Powder Diffraction and Surface Spectroscopy department, specializing in operando and in situ crystallographic experiments for energy-relevant applications. Day-to-day work involves planning and conducting complex in situ diffraction and scattering studies, analyzing data, and communicating research findings through journal articles and oral presentations at conferences. Key requirements include a Master's degree in a relevant scientific field (Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science), strong knowledge of crystallography and diffraction theory, and experience with diffraction methods and data analysis.
