Job Summary
Join the dynamic, interdisciplinary team at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) as a Technical Assistant, contributing to vital research aimed at preventing and treating cancer. In this role, you will be instrumental in the System Biology of Signal Transduction department, focusing on mass spectrometry data collection for computational models that enable personalized patient management. Your daily tasks will involve automated sample preparation using liquid-handling systems, conducting clinical proteomics measurements, and managing cell cultures and primary cells. You will also perform biochemical analyses, including quantitative immunoblotting and qRT-PCR experiments, ensuring meticulous quality control and data documentation. This position offers a responsible and varied environment, providing the opportunity to contribute directly to groundbreaking research in cancer prevention and patient quality of life.
Required Skills
Education
Completed training as a Technical Assistant, Biology Laboratory Technician, or comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in cell culture, molecular biology, and biochemistry
- Experience in mass spectrometry (advantageous)
- Experience in research laboratory organization (advantageous)
Languages
Additional
- Initial 2-year fixed-term contract with possibility of extension. Must provide proof of immunity against measles in accordance with the German Infection Protection Act (IfSG).
