Job Summary

The Max Rubner-Institut is seeking a Research Scientist for a two-year, full-time position in Kiel, focusing on food and nutritional microbiology. The successful candidate will join the Microbiology and Biotechnology department to work on the 'LipoBac' project, which investigates lipolytically active Acinetobacter species in raw milk. Day-to-day tasks include isolating and characterizing bacteria, performing genome sequencing, analyzing lipase genes, and developing rapid detection methods using isothermal amplification. This role involves close collaboration with scientific and industry partners, meticulous documentation, and publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in a relevant scientific field, practical experience in microbiology, and strong German language skills, along with a proactive, team-oriented, and independent work ethic. Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Nutritional Science (Ökotrophologie), or a comparable qualification

Experience
