Job Summary
The Justus Liebig University Giessen is seeking a dedicated Technical Assistant to join their Translational Microbiology and Immunopathology of Infections professorship. This role involves a variety of crucial laboratory tasks, including independent cultivation of mammalian cells, 3D cell cultures, and reporter and cell culture infection assays. The successful candidate will also perform gene editing, molecular biology techniques like PCR and NGS library preparation, and biochemical work such as SDS-PAGE. Key responsibilities extend to tissue sample processing for histological analysis, routine biomedical and microbiological tasks, method establishment, and lab organization. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in a supportive academic environment, with a focus on precision and meticulous documentation.
Required Skills
Education
Completed professional training as a BTA (Biological Technical Assistant), CTA (Chemical Technical Assistant), or MTA (Medical Technical Assistant), or a comparable professional qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in biomedical experimental research
- Experience with infectious agents is beneficial
- Experience with animal models is beneficial
