This doctoral position focuses on developing a powerful AI system for nationwide monitoring of nocturnal insects, specifically moths, using automated camera traps and artificial intelligence. The successful candidate will lead a citizen science campaign, engaging the public in image identification to generate crucial training data for the AI. Key responsibilities include organizing and executing the citizen science initiative, researching the potential of citizen science and gamification in biodiversity monitoring, and analyzing the impact of participation on citizen scientists. The role also involves scientific research, including writing and publishing peer-reviewed articles and presenting findings at conferences. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Diploma, Master, or equivalent) in Biology, Nature Conservation, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science, or a comparable field.
