Job Summary

This role involves ensuring the operational readiness and safety of technical equipment for the Technical Relief Organization (THW) in the Frankfurt am Main region. The successful candidate will conduct inspections, functional tests, and expert assessments on various technical devices and equipment, including ladders, lashing straps, and motor-operated tools. Key responsibilities also include performing minor repairs and maintenance, managing inventory records, and supporting digital radio operations through updates and device care. Additionally, the position requires instructing volunteers on equipment handling, acting as a driver, and performing caretaker duties. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training with a minimum 3-year standard training period in a construction, metal, electrical, or other technical trade.

Experience

  • Professional experience in a construction, metal, electrical, or other technical trade with a minimum 3-year standard training period
  • One year of professional experience, preferably with proven practical experience in handling the equipment to be inspected or comparable tools
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations (e.g., Industrial Safety Ordinance, Accident Prevention Regulations, Technical Rules for Industrial Safety, DGUV, BGR, DIN standards, and manufacturer specifications)

  • Driver's license Class III or B or BE required (Class C or CE desirable); willingness to undergo further training and qualification at THW training centers; willingness to work on-site in local branches; willingness to receive required vaccinations (Tetanus, Hepatitis A); willingness to work outside regular hours if necessary (e.g., in emergencies) and be reachable; willingness to participate in the management and coordination staff (LuK); willingness to wear service/deployment clothing on specific occasions; for foreign university degrees, a certificate evaluation from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) is required.
