Job Summary

This is a pivotal leadership role overseeing the newly established Digital Strategy Division (D1) within the THW's Digitalization and IT Service Center (DITZ) in Bonn. The Head of Division will be responsible for defining and executing the THW’s IT architecture and communication technology strategy, ensuring alignment with civil protection requirements. Key tasks include managing four subordinate sections (Digital Competence, Architecture, Administration, and Steering), strengthening digital literacy across the entire organization (both volunteer and full-time staff), and overseeing multi-project management and central IT procurement for the THW. This position requires a strategic IT leader with strong organizational and leadership skills, dedicated to driving significant organizational and technical change within a critical civil protection and disaster relief organization.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or equivalent (Diplom) in Electrical Engineering/Communication Technology, Computer Science, Administrative Informatics, or Business Informatics; Alternatively, a Master's degree or equivalent qualification for the higher administrative service

Experience

  • At least five years of experience in an IT area (if holding a non-IT related higher administrative degree)
  • Professional experience in Project Management
  • Leadership and organizational competence
  • Experience in strategic IT approaches and increasing digital competence in large organizations
  • Experience in actively shaping organizational and technical changes
