Job Summary
This role involves leading and managing a nationwide User Help Desk for the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW), a critical organization undergoing a fundamental IT restructuring. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, conceptualizing, coordinating, and overseeing the User Help Desk and the Tactical-Technical Operations Unit, ensuring smooth 24/7 operations, likely in a two-shift system. Key responsibilities include providing technical leadership to a team of IT specialists across multiple locations, managing IT processes, developing technical documentation, and ensuring secure IT operations. This position is ideal for a proactive leader who values a collaborative environment, is open to new challenges, and is committed to continuous improvement within a vital public service organization.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Administrative Informatics, Business Informatics, or a comparable IT-related field. Alternatively, a completed vocational training with an IT focus.

- Professional experience in IT (if no degree specified)
- Experience in technical leadership is desirable

- Consent to a security clearance check according to the Security Clearance Act (SÜG) is required, with no security risk identified. Willingness to work in a two-shift system and be available outside regular working hours (e.g., in emergencies). Willingness for occasional, generally well-plannable business trips. Willingness to participate in the management and coordination staff (LuK) and to wear service/deployment clothing on specific occasions. Diversity competence.
