Job Summary

The Landeshauptstadt Stuttgart is seeking a skilled Database Administrator specializing in PostgreSQL to join their Technical Infrastructure and Security department within the Office for Digitalization, Organization, and IT. This role involves the full lifecycle of database management on Linux servers, including conception, installation, and operation of DBMS and databases, with a focus on high availability clusters, Proxmox, and containers. The successful candidate will ensure efficient database operations through monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, patching, and data backup/recovery, adhering to strict security, performance, and availability standards. Additionally, the position requires optimizing and automating routine processes, supporting departments with database architecture and technology queries, and providing consultation on database projects and service operations, all while maintaining Linux server administration for database purposes. This is a permanent position offering a stable work environment within a public service context.
