Job Summary
The Berlin Fire Department is seeking an IT Systems Technician to join their Information and Communication Technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for the monitoring and operation of networks and ICT systems, including routers and switches, adapting infrastructure to evolving user requirements, and performing hardware and software upgrades. A key part of your day-to-day will involve updating technical documentation for configurations, network topologies, and troubleshooting, as well as creating system overviews and configuration guides. This is a crucial role supporting the oldest and largest professional fire department in Germany, offering a stable, full-time, and permanent position with opportunities for professional development in a supportive team environment.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as an IT Systems Electronician or comparable qualifications (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration, Electronics Technician for Information and System Technology, Information Electronics Technician) in combination with relevant professional experience. Proof of equivalence for foreign educational qualifications is required.
Experience
- Practical experience in integrating and troubleshooting network components
- Experience in network technology and network components in LAN and data centers (desirable)
Languages
Additional
- Willingness to undergo a security clearance initiated by the Berlin Fire Department, which must be successfully completed by the end of the probationary period. Submission of complete application documents in German or with German translation, including a motivational letter, resume, current work references, proof of education/qualifications, and a recognized German language certificate (minimum B2) if German is not your native language.
