Job Summary

This role involves comprehensive financial and investment controlling within the Youth and School Department of the City of Aachen, one of the largest departments in the city administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a key-figure-oriented financial steering reporting system, consolidating and preparing financial data for leadership, analyzing trends, and developing countermeasures. A significant part of the role also includes coordinating cost estimations and timelines for investment projects, preparing budget applications for new investments, and controlling ongoing investment measures. This position requires strong analytical, conceptual, and negotiation skills, along with the ability to work effectively in a team. It's an opportunity to contribute to significant financial oversight for a large public sector entity, managing substantial budgets and investment projects, particularly in the real estate sector for schools and youth facilities.

Required Skills

Education

Civil service qualification for career group two, first entry-level for general administrative service, or successful completion of Administrative Course II; OR a completed university degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in Business Administration.

Experience

  • Professional experience in financial management or controlling
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience (desirable)
  • Theoretical or practical knowledge in project management (desirable)
  • In-depth knowledge of budget processing (desirable)
