Job Summary
This doctoral position focuses on understanding the fundamental physics of interfaces in oxide materials, particularly domain walls in antiferroelectric and antiferromagnetic systems. The successful candidate will join the Research Center Future Energy Materials and Systems (RC FEMS) at the University of Duisburg-Essen, contributing to the newly established Professorship for Functional Ferroic Systems. Day-to-day tasks involve learning and applying various scanning probe microscopy and nanostructuring methods, as well as setting up and commissioning new equipment and measurement stations. This role offers an opportunity to conduct cutting-edge experimental research in solid-state physics, with a focus on innovative applications in nanotechnology and spintronics, within an interdisciplinary and international team environment.

Completed Master's degree in Physics from a German university
Experience
- • Professional experience with experimental laboratory work, especially the characterization of complex magnetically or electrically ordered systems

- Location in Duisburg, Germany. Full-time position (39 hours 50 minutes per week), part-time possible. Contract duration of 36 months. Interest in experimental laboratory work and setting up new laboratories. Excellent knowledge in solid-state physics, preferably regarding magnetically or electrically ordered materials.
