Job Summary

This role involves ensuring the secure operation of the power grid by maintaining and repairing large-scale equipment within substations. The successful candidate will perform maintenance, repair, and diagnostic tasks on ultra-high voltage equipment in air-insulated and gas-insulated switchgear, including large transformers (e.g., 380 kV/ 110 kV/ 30 kV), circuit breakers, disconnectors, instrument transformers, and surge arresters. The position also entails executing repair projects such as replacing individual components and conducting comprehensive functional tests before commissioning. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the energy transition by working with cutting-edge technology across the entire 50Hertz grid area, requiring frequent travel and a high degree of autonomy.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training or master craftsman/technician qualification in electrical engineering, operational technology, or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in maintenance within grid systems (advantageous)
  • Experience with common work equipment (e.g., work platforms, insulating gas maintenance devices, transformer oil management) (advantageous)

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Driving license (PKW) required; High willingness to travel frequently throughout the entire 50Hertz grid area (Eastern Germany and Hamburg) with overnight stays.
