Job Summary
Join the German Cancer Research Center's Omics IT & Data Management Core Facility as a Software Developer, contributing to a vital mission of cancer research. In this role, you will primarily focus on enhancing and integrating WESkit, a Workflow Execution Service, with OTP, a metadata management and workflow orchestration system. Your day-to-day will involve developing WESkit to production-level, establishing it as a backend service for OTP, and collaborating with a distributed team to resolve issues and adapt to evolving requirements. This position offers the unique opportunity to apply your software development expertise in a meaningful scientific context, working with open-source projects that support high-throughput biological data analysis and contribute directly to advancements in cancer research.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (including applied sciences) in Computer Science or a related field
Experience
- Professional experience writing production-quality software
- Basic experience with high-throughput cluster systems
Languages
Additional
- Proof of immunity against measles required (Infection Protection Act regulations); Position is initially limited to 2 years with possibility of prolongation.
