Job Summary

This role involves working as a Technical Assistant within a critical research project at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in collaboration with Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. The core focus is optimizing flow cytometry protocols and preparing data for AI applications in hematological diagnostics. Day-to-day tasks include systematic sample collection and archiving (Biobanking) of blood, bone marrow, and biopsy material, followed by preparation, measurement, and analysis using flow cytometry. The assistant will also be involved in developing new protocols and potentially conducting further biochemical and bioinformatic analyses. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to cutting-edge translational cancer research in a highly collaborative environment, working closely with clinical and research partners at a leading European cancer center.

Required Skills

Education

Completed training as a Technical Assistant (BTA, MTA, MTLA) or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Professional experience in hematology, including flow cytometry
  • High interest in co-developing new flow cytometry protocols and technologies

Additional

  • Initial 2-year fixed-term contract (extension possible); Must provide proof of immunity against measles (due to Infection Protection Act - IfSG); Location is DKTK Partner Site Berlin at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin.
