Job Summary
This part-time (70%) Scientific Associate role, based in the Core Facility for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), focuses on advancing sequencing technologies and providing expert support. The successful candidate will co-lead the Innovation Team, establish and manage a QC Open Lab, and provide essential consultation and training to researchers on sequencing experiment planning and execution. Key responsibilities include developing, optimizing, and establishing new NGS protocols, particularly utilizing Oxford Nanopore Technologies. This position requires a Master’s degree in a relevant life science field, proven expertise in molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, library preparation), and specific experience with NGS technologies.
