Job Summary

Join the German Cancer Research Center's Next Generation Sequencing Core Facility as a Bioinformatician/NextFlow Developer to support the migration of a critical quality control pipeline. This role involves analyzing existing pipeline structures, refactoring them using NextFlow best practices, and ensuring compatibility with high-performance computing (HPC) environments. You will optimize resource allocation, parallelize jobs for efficiency, and create comprehensive documentation and robust testing strategies. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with strong scripting skills and experience in large-scale data processing, particularly from next-generation sequencing platforms, to contribute to cutting-edge cancer research and targeted patient diagnosis and treatment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master, preferably Doctorate) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Medical Informatics, or a related field

Experience

  • At least 3 years of professional experience
  • Experience in handling and analyzing data from next generation sequencing platforms
  • Experience using bioinformatic tools commonly used for QC

Languages

English (Fluent)

  • Proof of immunity against measles required (due to Infection Protection Act - IfSG).
