Job Summary

The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) is seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join the new Junior Research Group "Non-Coding Cancer Biology" within the Institute of Pathology at the DKTK partner site in Munich. This role focuses on investigating the crucial role of the non-coding genome in cancer development and identifying novel therapeutic targets. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge CRISPR methods, including epigenome editing and RNA-targeting CRISPR systems, and perform next-generation CRISPR screens. The position involves both experimental and computational biology, utilizing bioinformatics platforms for the analysis of various genomic datasets. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to pioneering research in precision epigenetic therapies within a diverse and multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with biologists, clinicians, pathologists, and computational scientists across the DKTK network and LMU Munich.
