Job Summary
This role at the German Weather Service (DWD) in Potsdam is for an Engineer with a focus on Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or Information Technology. The successful candidate will lead the 'Building and Information Technology' section, overseeing both personnel and cross-functional tasks. A key responsibility includes acting as the system operator for nationwide UPS systems and taking central responsibility for operational IT systems within the 'Service and Logistics' department. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Diplom-FH, Bachelor) in a relevant engineering or information technology field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Information Technology)
Experience
- Professional experience in a relevant engineering or IT field
- 3 years of relevant practical professional experience after obtaining the required university degree (for full salary group entitlement)
- Experience in leading teams or sections (implied by leadership role)
- Experience as a responsible electrical engineer (vEFK)
- Experience with IT security concepts and legal requirements (ITSiG, KRITIS)
- Experience in planning and executing high-quality ICT measures, including in combination with construction measures

- Eligibility to act as a responsible electrical engineer (vEFK)
- Physical fitness for occasional strenuous activities and working at heights
- Driver's license for passenger cars and willingness to drive official vehicles
- Successful security clearance according to § 7 LuftSIG and § 9 SÜG within the probationary period
