Job Summary

As an Electrical Supply Engineer, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, testing, and selecting equipment for the THW's Electrical Supply and Infrastructure expert groups, working closely with volunteers. Your role involves ensuring power supply at large incident sites and providing emergency power to critical infrastructure during outages, utilizing grid replacement systems and cabling materials. You will also support the Infrastructure group, specializing in electrical, water, wastewater, and LPG systems from house connections, and aid in preparing temporary accommodations. Key responsibilities include drafting technical specifications, initiating and managing procurement projects, conducting sample approvals and technical inspections, leading and contributing to relevant committees (e.g., DIN, VDE), and performing market analyses. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure resilience and emergency response within a public service context.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree from a university or university of applied sciences in a natural science field, e.g., Electrical Engineering, Supply Engineering, or Energy Technology

Experience

  • Knowledge in the operation of grid replacement systems
  • Basic knowledge of procurement and contract law
