Job Summary

The Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics is seeking a dedicated Materials Testing Engineer to join their Plasma Edge and Wall (E2 M) department in Garching. This role involves the setup, modification, procurement, and operation of thermal analysis systems, including laser flash, thermogravimetric analyzers, and high-temperature furnaces. The successful candidate will conduct and evaluate thermal conductivity measurements, oxidation, and outgassing tests, and contribute to surface analyses using electron microscopy and X-ray diffractometry. They will also take on responsibilities in occupational safety and radiation protection.
