Job Summary
This role involves ensuring the robust operation and continuous improvement of log management and network diagnostic systems, with a 40% remote work option. The specialist will be responsible for managing release and version updates for QRadar, configuring and adapting Syslog connections, and providing support for log integration, particularly within the BSI environment. Key responsibilities also include maintaining and troubleshooting network issues, operating Linux-based log relays (RHEL 8.9 with Syslog-ng), and managing WEC servers. The position requires daily manual monitoring of Syslog systems and performing critical troubleshooting for WEC, Syslog-NG, Python-related issues, and Filebeat. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional to contribute to innovative, cross-industry development projects and shape future sustainable solutions.
Required Skills
Education
IT-related degree or recognized IT vocational training, or equivalent professional experience. LPIC1 certification (preferred).
Experience
- Professional experience or training in an IT-related field, or at least 5 years of professional experience in an IT environment
- Professional experience or further training in Service Management (ITIL V3 or V4)
- Training or experience in Linux and knowledge of current Linux server operating systems (RHEL 8/9, SLES 15)
- Training or experience with Windows server operating systems (Server 2016 and newer)
- Professional experience in operating logging software such as WEC, QRadar, and Syslog systems
- Experience in network diagnostics (knowledge of network functionality tests using command line commands)
