Job Summary
The University of Bremen is seeking a dedicated and creative Research Associate to join the Airbus Endowed Professorship for Integrative Simulation and Engineering of Materials and Processes (ISEMP). This role focuses on the simulation-based optimization of Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LB-PBF) for additive manufacturing, specifically aiming to develop failure-safe minimization of support structure density. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and implementing innovative algorithms for adapting support structures based on numerical calculations of part distortion, collaborating with experimental colleagues on calibration methods, and independently developing an online software tool. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the next generation of additive manufacturing technologies within an innovative research environment, fostering new concepts for future research projects.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or University Diploma in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a comparable field
Experience
- Experience in thermomechanical simulations is advantageous
- Experience in additive manufacturing
