This role involves a Civil Engineer supporting the Lower Saxony State Department for Water Management, Coastal and Nature Conservation (NLWKN) in managing and reviewing construction programs, specifically focusing on water management projects. The successful candidate will primarily advise grant recipients, evaluate the eligibility and feasibility of water management projects in coastal protection, inland flood protection, and river development. Key responsibilities include participating in grant allocation, reviewing project designs for efficiency and compliance with technical standards, and contributing to approval processes. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Dipl.-Ing. (FH) or Bachelor) in Civil Engineering, specializing in Hydraulic Engineering, Water Management, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in water management projects, particularly coastal protection and inland flood protection
  • Knowledge of relevant legal regulations (e.g., HWRM-RL, WHG/NWG, NDG, public procurement law, HOAI) is desirable
  • Knowledge of the statewide funding guideline for inland flood protection and the GAK framework plan is desirable
