Job Summary

Join the City of Regensburg's Department of Surveying and Geoinformation as a Geoinformatics Specialist or Computer Scientist. This role focuses on expanding and maintaining the city's Geodata Infrastructure (GDI), which is crucial for approximately 70-80% of municipal decisions. You will be instrumental in selecting appropriate technologies, adhering to Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards, and developing the city's Geoportal. Key responsibilities include configuring software components like web and database servers, and implementing new technologies for presenting geodata online, such as 3D portals and integrating diverse GIS/CAD systems. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Geoinformatics or Computer Science, preferably with a focus on Geoinformatics or Visualization (Dipl. (FH) / Bachelor) or comparable degree

Experience

  • Professional experience with Geoinformation Systems and Geodatabases
  • Programming experience in Python, PyQGIS, and JSON
  • Practical experience with Geodata Infrastructure (GDI) components (e.g., map servers, database servers, web servers, Masterportal)
  • Practical experience with Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) technologies and standards (e.g., WMS, WFS, WMTS, Vector Tiles)
