Job Summary

This role is for a Research Scientist specializing in aquaculture, marine ecology, or marine biology, with a strong focus on aquaculture. The successful candidate will join the Thünen Institute of Fisheries Ecology in Bremerhaven, Germany, to contribute to the 'ReOyster' project. This project is dedicated to the sustainable restoration of European Oyster reef systems in the German North Sea, a critical effort given their endangered status and importance for marine biodiversity. Key responsibilities include the scientific and technical coordination of project activities, particularly concerning the hatchery production of European Oysters (Ostrea edulis). The role involves meticulous planning, technical oversight, and staff training for processes such as broodstock conditioning, microalgae cultivation, and larval rearing.
