Job Summary

The Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) is seeking a Research Scientist to delve into nanoscale magnetic phenomena induced by ions and femtosecond laser pulses. This role, funded by the DFG, is suitable for either a PhD candidate or a Postdoctoral researcher, depending on prior qualifications. The successful candidate will conduct experimental studies and simulations to understand the mechanisms leading to ferromagnetic order activation, building on recent findings in thin-film alloys. Key responsibilities include utilizing HZDR's facilities for material fabrication and characterization, observing magneto-optical and structural material behavior under irradiation, and collaborating with external partners. You will also be responsible for modeling and analyzing results, proposing new experiments, and publishing findings in scientific journals and at international conferences. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in solid-state physics within a highly connected and excellent scientific environment.
