Job Summary

The Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), a leading research institution, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their Instrumentation department. This role involves supporting the development and commissioning of specialized research equipment and facilities for the HZDR institutes. Key responsibilities include electrical project planning and design of scientific systems using EPLAN, overseeing the assembly and commissioning of control cabinets and prototypes, and performing electrical testing of equipment. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with engineering and scientific staff, prepare technical specifications for external tenders, and execute various electrical tasks. Required Skills

Education

Technician degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or comparable field; OR University/University of Applied Sciences degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Professional experience in electrical design and commissioning of scientific facilities
  • Experience with EPLAN planning software for creating and revising circuit diagrams
  • Basic technical understanding and manual dexterity
  • Desirable: Detailed knowledge of legal and normative frameworks for planning and testing machinery and equipment
