Job Summary

We are seeking an IT Architect specializing in Mobile Device Management (MDM) for the City of Stuttgart's IT department. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic development and technical architecture of our MDM platform, "Relution," which manages approximately 10,000 mobile devices across iOS, iPadOS, Android, and macOS. Your day-to-day tasks will involve developing and implementing scalable MDM architectures, integrating mobile devices securely, defining security standards, conducting risk analyses, and advising IT leadership on mobile device protection measures. You will also manage BYOD policies, support departments in mobile work, oversee license and product management, evaluate new features, plan software lifecycles, and manage external service providers. This position offers the opportunity to shape the future of mobile IT work environments within a public service organization, with a focus on security, scalability, and integration.

Required Skills

Education

Completed Bachelor's, Master's, or Diploma in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field. Alternatively, a completed IT apprenticeship with equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Several years of relevant professional experience in the specified field
  • Alternatively, a completed IT apprenticeship with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience and equivalent skills
  • Professional experience in IT architecture within Mobile Device Management
  • Experience in deploying mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, Android, macOS) and integrating them with directory services and interfaces
  • Experience with IT security standards (BSI-Grundschutz, NIS2, GDPR)
  • Experience in container-based deployments (e.g., Docker) is ideal
  • Initial leadership experience in a technical area (projects, service provider management) is ideal
