Job Summary
Join Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund, Germany's largest pension insurance provider, as a Senior Oracle Administrator in their Database Management department. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future architecture and strategic development of their Oracle database platform, one of the largest IT systems in the German public sector. This includes defining technical standards for performance, scalability, and security, planning migrations and modernizations, and acting as an internal consultant for architectural questions. You'll contribute to long-term strategic decisions and share your expertise within the team, ensuring the smooth operation of critical database systems for millions of insured individuals. This is an opportunity to work in a complex and demanding IT environment with a focus on social security.
Required Skills
Education
Completed scientific university studies (Diploma, Master or equivalent degree) preferably in IT, or an equivalent qualification due to demonstrably equivalent skills and experience.
Experience
- Several years of relevant experience in the operation and/or design of Oracle database systems
- Profound knowledge and many years of experience in the conception and further development of database architectures or platform design in complex IT environments
- Good knowledge in the areas of high availability, performance optimization, and scaling of database systems
- Experience with Oracle Exadata or comparable Engineered Systems is advantageous
- Good knowledge in handling Linux-based systems and ideally experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible)
- Interest in topics such as IT security, data encryption, and compliance
- Desirable knowledge of relevant IT security standards (e.g., BSI Grundschutz, ISO27001)
