Job Summary

The University of Rostock is seeking a Research Assistant in Computer Science for a full-time, fixed-term position of 3 years. This role involves conducting research in hybrid methods of artificial intelligence and machine learning, with a focus on developing and evaluating new concepts in hybrid probabilistic inference systems. You will be responsible for documenting research, publishing findings internationally, preparing scientific reports, and managing research projects. Additionally, you will contribute to teaching by conducting research-based lectures and supervising student theses. The ideal candidate holds a Master's or equivalent degree in Computer Science with good results, possesses practical and theoretical knowledge in symbolic AI, machine learning, and neural networks, and has experience in software development and probabilistic inference systems. Fluency in German and English is required.

  • Willingness to work seriously and dedicatedly on a project for one's own scientific qualification (PhD)
  • Secure knowledge of German and English languages in spoken and written form
  • Very good, structured, and punctual work approach
  • Communication skills for presenting research results
  • Teamwork skills for working in interdisciplinary working groups
  • Ability for practical experimental work based on current software infrastructures in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence
