Job Summary

The University of Rostock is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Engineer to manage and advance the research infrastructure at the Institute for Microelectronics and Data Engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, modification, and development of high-tech research environments, including simulation servers for virtual prototyping, hardware-in-the-loop systems, AI servers, robotics, and FPGA prototyping platforms. Your day-to-day work will involve coordinating research project work packages, overseeing lab and IT infrastructure security, and providing technical support for teaching laboratories. You will also conduct safety briefings and ensure the smooth operation of network and server systems. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor, FH-Diploma, or equivalent) in Information Technology, Technical Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree or Diploma with excellent grades is highly desirable.

Experience

  • Professional experience in network, server, and computer configuration
  • Professional experience in setting up and maintaining specialized IT services
  • Practical experience with laboratory infrastructure including FPGA boards, robotics, and measurement equipment
