Job Summary

The University of Rostock is seeking an IT Administrator and Application Manager to support the Faculty of Law. In this role, you will be responsible for the entire operational lifecycle of the faculty's IT solutions, including server administration, network and firewall management, and the development of IT security concepts. You will act as the Data Protection Officer for the faculty and play a key role in supporting IT-based teaching and examinations, including e-exams. Day-to-day tasks involve analyzing staff requirements, providing technical user support, and conducting training workshops. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor's, Diploma FH, or equivalent) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or Computer Science Education; OR completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration (Fachinformatiker Systemintegration) with relevant long-term professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT administration and application management
  • Extensive experience in MS Windows and Linux server/client administration
  • Experience with Apple/macOS client environments
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional IT experience if applying via the alternative qualification route
  • Experience in data protection and privacy compliance is considered an advantage
  • Experience in developing and delivering training materials or workshops is preferred
