Job Summary

Join the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) as a Data Manager/Medical Documentalist to support the National Cancer Prevention Center (NCPC) in Heidelberg. You will be responsible for the end-to-end data management of clinical studies, including database creation, data processing, and flow design, with a focus on the NCPC registry study. This involves conceptualizing, building, and administering study databases, developing data entry interfaces, automating data capture, and ensuring data quality and security. You will also prepare data for scientific analysis, manage organizational challenges, and ensure compliance with data protection regulations. The ideal candidate has a degree or vocational training in Medical Informatics or Documentation, strong database skills (MS SQL Server, MS Access, SQL, VBA), experience with SAS, and excellent German and English communication skills. This is a fixed-term position with the potential for extension, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to cancer research in a state-of-the-art environment.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree or vocational training in Medical Informatics, Medical Documentation, Medical Information Management, or comparable qualifications.

Experience

  • Professional experience in database creation, processing, and data flow management for studies.
  • Experience in conceptualizing, building, and administering study databases.
  • Experience in developing and implementing data entry interfaces and user interfaces.
  • Experience in data quality monitoring, data validation, and data cleaning.
  • Experience in system administration and maintenance, including user management.
  • Experience in coordinating and documenting study data management.
  • Experience in ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
