Job Summary

This role focuses on the planning, configuration, and administration of IT infrastructure for electronic communication, including encrypted emails (S/MIME & PGP), email archiving, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for a Berlin district administration. You will manage the central Windows domain, oversee hardware and software components, handle user management, and act as a central point of contact for IT-related issues. The position also involves documenting IT systems, participating in procurement processes, guiding external service providers, and contributing to operational and security concepts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT system administration, particularly with MS Windows Server environments and data center hardware, and possess excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Required Skills

Education

Successful completion of a (University of Applied Sciences) degree in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Business Informatics, or Administrative Informatics; OR a completed vocational training as an IT System Integration Specialist, Application Development Specialist, or IT Clerk; OR a degree in another field or a three-year vocational training with at least five years of IT system administration experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of five years of experience in IT system administration (required for specific educational backgrounds)
  • Professional experience in planning, configuration, and administration of communication systems (email, encrypted email)
  • Professional experience in planning, configuration, and administration of archiving systems
  • Professional experience in planning, configuration, and administration of PKI systems
  • Experience in Windows domain administration
  • Experience with data center hardware and monitoring systems
