Job Summary
We are seeking an IT Administrator (Operator) to join our Central Technology department, focusing on Active Directory and Group Policies. In this role, you will be responsible for the conception, implementation, and operation of IT infrastructure, including Level 3 support. Your daily tasks will involve developing and maintaining Group Policies (GPOs), managing and optimizing the Active Directory environment, and supporting central applications and virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, Proxmox, OpenStack). You will also be involved in hardware/software acceptance, OS and application installations, automated software distribution, and technical documentation. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the IT backbone of the Rhineland-Palatinate police force, ensuring the operational readiness of approximately 14,000 employees across 130 locations. The role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative spirit.
Required Skills
Education
Completed degree in Computer Science, Communications Engineering, or a comparable field, or relevant vocational training (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration) combined with skills and experience from many years of relevant professional activity.
Experience
- Professional experience in Active Directory and Group Policies (GPO) including planning, structuring, and development of policy concepts
- Experience in independent conceptual design of Group Policies considering IT security, data protection, and organizational requirements
- Experience in independent participation or leadership of IT projects
- Experience in software distribution systems and modern client management solutions is advantageous
- Good knowledge in PowerShell or comparable scripting languages for automation and standardization is advantageous

- Residence in Germany for the last 5 consecutive years required for security clearance. Final transfer of the position is dependent on successful security screening. Commitment to the free democratic basic order.
