Job Summary

This role is for a Plant Safety Engineer within a leading global chemical company specializing in cellulose acetate. You will be responsible for ensuring plant safety, particularly focusing on explosion protection. Your day-to-day tasks will involve creating and updating explosion protection documents, conducting process risk analyses (HAZOP, LOPA), advising line managers, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations. You will also develop concepts for continuous improvement, participate in safety-focused projects, analyze safety-relevant incidents, and manage IMS system documentation. The ideal candidate has a degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, with specific qualifications or willingness to acquire them in industrial explosion protection. Experience in plant safety, project management in this area, and strong PC skills are essential. Required Skills

Education

Completed engineering degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Process Engineering/Plant Engineering, or comparable qualification. Specific qualification in industrial explosion protection or willingness to acquire it.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in plant safety, preferably in explosion protection
  • Experience in leading projects related to plant safety and explosion protection
  • Professional experience in engineering (Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with focus on Process/Plant Engineering or comparable qualification)
