Job Summary

The University of Rostock is seeking a Specialist Engineer in Electrical Engineering and Building Management Systems to ensure the smooth operation of its diverse buildings, including technically advanced research and teaching laboratories. This role involves close collaboration with operational technology departments, focusing on electrical systems, elevators, measurement and control technology (MSR), fire alarm systems (EMA), and general building management systems (GMA). The successful candidate will be responsible for defining technical requirements for construction projects, overseeing their implementation, conducting technical reviews of project documentation, and managing contracts within their area of expertise. They will also plan and execute regular inspections of assigned systems, assess energy-saving measures, and provide critical support during emergencies, such as operating 20 kV systems. Required Skills

Education

University degree (FH-Diplom, Bachelor, or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering with or and Information Technology; or equivalent knowledge and skills. Willingness to become a Responsible Electrical Specialist (Verantwortliche Elektrofachkraft) if not already.

Experience

  • Several years of relevant professional experience in the described task areas (desirable)
  • Professional experience with electrical systems up to 30kV (Switching Authorization)
  • Experience with public procurement law for services in maintenance, repair, and testing (advantageous)
  • Experience with relevant administrative regulations (LHO M-V, RLBau) (advantageous)
