Job Summary
This PhD position at the University Hospital Würzburg offers a unique opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research in the field of 3D bioprinting and tissue engineering. As part of the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center TRR 225, you will focus on the controlled differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells within novel 3D cell cultures and hydrogel-based tissue models, specifically targeting cartilage regeneration. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve applying advanced bioprinting techniques, performing molecular and cellular biological analyses (such as gene/protein expression, histology, and biochemical assays), and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of material scientists and clinicians. Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related Life Sciences.
Experience
- Academic background in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related life sciences
- Professional interest in fundamental and biomedical translational research
- Experience with relevant laboratory methods is considered an advantage but is not strictly required
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
