Job Summary

This PhD position within the 'Translational Somatosensorics' neuroscientific team focuses on investigating the mechanisms of Fabry disease, specifically targeting autonomic dysfunction and cardiac pathology. The successful candidate will work in an interdisciplinary environment, utilizing patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to generate sympathetic neurons and cardiomyocytes. Day-to-day tasks involve advanced cell culture, molecular analysis (qRT-PCR, immunocytochemistry), electrophysiological measurements (patch-clamp/multielectrode array), and large-scale data analysis of proteomics and metabolomics. The role requires a highly motivated individual to bridge neuro-cardiac crosstalk research with clinical phenotyping to identify new therapeutic targets. This position is ideal for a dedicated researcher looking to contribute to high-impact translational medicine, offering a collaborative team environment and enrollment in the Graduate School of Life Sciences.
