Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and industrious PhD candidate to join our translational neuroscience team at the Department of Neurology. This role focuses on pain and neuropathy research, specifically investigating the role of CD90+ stromal cells and Schwann cells in chronic neuropathic pain. As part of the European DECIPHER consortium, you will work in an interdisciplinary environment alongside clinicians and scientists. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve performing immunohistochemistry and microscopy on human biopsy specimens, managing advanced cell cultures, conducting molecular biology assays like qRT-PCR, and performing functional analyses such as patch-clamp and multielectrode arrays. You will also handle large data analysis and advanced statistical modeling. This position is ideal for a candidate looking to contribute to high-impact pain research within a supportive, collaborative, and well-funded academic environment. Required Skills

Education

MSc (or equivalent) in Life Sciences or related faculty

Experience

  • Professional experience in immunohistochemistry and cell culture is mandatory
  • Experience with microscopy techniques and molecular biology is desired
  • Practical knowledge in stem cell research and electrophysiology is beneficial
