Job Summary

The University of Rostock is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Quantum Physics to join the International Research Training Group (IRTG) "Imaging Quantum Systems: Photons, Molecules, Materials (IQS)". This role involves conducting independent research on quantum systems, focusing on fundamental quantum behavior in photonic or molecular systems. The successful candidate will present findings at conferences, publish in high-impact journals, and mentor Master's and potentially PhD students. They will also contribute to the coordination of graduate programs, workshops, and conferences, participate in teaching, and engage in third-party funding acquisition. This position offers an excellent platform for international research and collaboration within a highly current scientific field, working closely with Canadian partner universities.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (State Examination, Diploma, Master's or equivalent) in Physics with at least a good grade; Doctorate (PhD)

Experience

  • PhD with experimental background in Quantum Physics or a related scientific field
  • Experience in supervising students (e.g., lab work, tutorials, internships)
  • Publication experience
  • Experience in independent research
