Job Summary

This role involves conducting cutting-edge research in automation and control engineering, specifically focusing on the automatic connection and disconnection of trolleybus current collectors to overhead lines, even while the bus is in motion. The successful candidate will contribute to the stability analysis, modeling, simulation, identification, control, and state/disturbance estimation of complex, dynamic, non-linear mechatronic systems. Day-to-day tasks include project-based research, coordinating with internal and external partners, writing scientific publications and research reports, and presenting findings at conferences. This position offers the opportunity to pursue a PhD, contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable public transport infrastructure with reduced needs.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Information Technology with good grades

Experience

  • Experience in modeling, analysis, estimation, and control of mechatronic systems
  • Professional experience in project-based research
  • Experience in coordinating with partners and organizing workshops

  • Pursuit of a scientific qualification (PhD) is required. This is a qualification position under the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (WissZeitVG), intended to promote a doctoral procedure. The position is limited for the duration of the doctoral procedure, initially up to 3 years, with a possible extension within the limits of WissZeitVG.
